The benchmarks in the sections below are designed to allow people who have never had a large breed dog or a Bernese to better understand what to expect as Berners grow.
Remember- these observations are broad generalizations and should not be taken as absolutes. Not every Bernese pup matures physically or mentally at the same rate. The growth pattern of a Bernese may come as quite a surprise to anyone not familiar with how members of this breed may look or act at various stages during puppyhood and adolescence.
