The Lakeview Fire Lighter is a quick, efficient method to start a wood fire without the use of kindling or newspaper. The idea of the fire lighter is very simple: the igniter stone, on the end of the rod, absorbs lamp oil stored in the fuel pot, the stone is lit and placed under the wood in your fireplace. The stone will burn for about twenty minutes.
SINCE LAMP OIL IS FLAMMABLE PLEASE ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.
1 . Fill the fuel pot 3/4 full with lamp oil. Any standard lamp oil will work, but we do recommend using Ultra Pure, a pure paraffin lamp oil.
2. Place the rod with the igniter stone attached into the fuel pot making sure that we completely submerge the igniter stone in the lamp oil.

3. After the igniter stone has soaked in the lamp oil for a minimum of four hours remove the rod and igniter stone from the fuel pot. Let the excess oil from the rod and igniter stone drip back into the fuel pot.

4. Light the stone with a match or lighter. It takes about twenty seconds to light the stone the first time it is used. After the first use, the stone will only take 5 - 10 seconds to light.

5. Once the stone is lit place it under the wood in your fireplace. The stone will burn for about twenty minutes. After the stone has gone out, remove it from the fireplace and let the rod and stone cool to room temperature before returning them to the fuel pot.

6. Please keep your Fire Lighter a safe distance from heat or open flame and out of reach of children and pets.
